Aleeya Sawyer, MS, MA is a current clinical psychology doctoral student in the APA-accredited Clinical Psychology Program (PsyD) at Loyola University Maryland. She is currently licensed as a Psychology Associate in the state of Maryland. Aleeya is deeply committed to creating spaces that encourage individuals to share their experiences, obstacles, and accomplishments, while fostering acceptance and comfortability.

Aleeya received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Howard University, where she also played collegiate soccer. Her collegiate athletic experience played a transformative role in developing her interest in athlete mental health. After graduating from Howard, she attended the University of Denver where she obtained her Master of Arts in Sport and Performance Psychology.

Her previous training includes working as a student clinician at the Loyola Clinical Centers and as a Performance Consultant for the University of Denver’s Center for Performance Excellence. As a student clinician, she has had the opportunity to provide individual and group psychotherapy to clients presenting with a broad spectrum of concerns. In her role as a Performance Consultant, Aleeya gained experience working with individuals from multiple sporting disciplines, such as baseball, soccer, gymnastics, and volleyball. In addition, she also has experience designing, implementing, and executing performance psychology and mental skills interventions for athletes and teams. In September of 2025, Aleeya will begin as a clinical doctoral extern at Loyola University Maryland’s Counseling Center in the Student-Athlete Mental Health Services track.

As a professional who identifies as a Black woman, Aleeya has been able to bring unique, valuable, and insightful perspectives when working with a diverse range of clients. She constantly leans into humility by engaging in continuous self-reflection and self-evaluation to examine her biases and commit to lifelong learning. Clinically, she is passionate about working with high-performing individuals, minority populations, and groups/teams. Aleeya’s therapeutic style incorporates a balance of flexibility, client collaboration, and challenge while simultaneously remaining true to authenticity and adhering to ethical standards.

When she is not wearing her student & clinician hat, Aleeya enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and traveling.

Her rate for individual therapy sessions is $90, and she offers a sliding scale fee for some clients. She also offers team and group consultations.
