Brad Bryk, PsyD

Clinical Psychologist & Sport Psychologist

Brad is the owner and founder of BrykMinds, LLC. He is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Maryland and Washington D.C. and, through the Psychological Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) he is authorized to practice via telehealth in 40 other participating states.

Brad is incredibly passionate about working with clients struggling with sport performance, anxiety, relationship distress, and identity development/cultural concerns. He finds it imperative to explore and discuss the various cultures and identities that his clients identify with. Brad's therapy style is easygoing, transparent, and approachable, with a sprinkle of dry humor mixed in. Brad has extensive experience working with athletes from a variety of sports, including, swimming & diving, sailing, rowing, lacrosse, softball, soccer, track & field, baseball, gymnastics, water polo, and tennis.

Social justice work is an incredibly important aspect of Brad’s work as a clinician and as an individual who identifies with many identities that provide him with power and privilege in his everyday life. He recognizes that his identities and his clients’ identities will always be part of the therapeutic relationship and it is vital for him as a clinician to do his own identity work to be more aware of his own biases, stereotypes, and assumptions. Moreover, putting time and energy into creating meaningful partnerships and relationships with organizations and individuals engaging in social justice work is salient in order to create effective change in the community.

Brad received his BA in Psychology from New York University, his MA in Sport and Performance Psychology from the University of Denver, and his PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Loyola University Maryland. Brad is a member of the Clinical/Counseling Sport Psychology Association (CCSPA), the American Psychological Association (and Division 47 of APA) and the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Brad is listed as a provider in the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee's (USOPC) Mental Health registry to serve Team USA athletes.

When Brad is out of the office, you can find him spending time with his family, attending various sporting events, specifically New York Jets football games, watching any and all sport documentaries he can get his hands on, enjoying concerts, and taking his dog, Nigel, on long walks.

His rate for individual therapy sessions is $220.00, and he offers a sliding scale fee to some clients. Brad is also available for group/team consultations. Additionally, he assists clients who seek reimbursement from their out-of-network insurance providers.

Brad looks forward to connecting with you!
